Assemblymember Shirley Nash Weber, a Democrat representing the cities of Chula Vista, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City and San Diego, was elected to the California State Assembly in 2012. Dr. Weber previously served as a professor at California State University, San Diego, was former president of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education, and chaired the San Diego Citizens Equal Opportunity Commission. She earned her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles. Weber’s legislative agenda is focused on small business procurement, K-12 education curriculum, public safety, student financial aid, and juvenile justice youth assistance programs.
