SACRAMENTO – The members of the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) congratulate the NBA for taking swift and decisive action to investigate and sanction L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling in light of the revelation of anti-Black sentiments and actions attributed to him.

“We call upon the NBA not only to rigorously enforce its ban on Sterling’s participation in decisions about and interaction with the Clippers henceforth, but also to investigate, expose and remedy any further race-based harm he or those acting on his behalf or under his influence may have committed.”

“It is the persistence of hidden policies of discrimination such as this, which the California Legislative Black Caucus, among other entities, must remain vigilant to discover, challenge and mitigate, whether practiced overtly or covertly.”
