SACRAMENTO – Senator Isadore Hall, III (D – South Bay), Chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) today released the following statement following the recent officer involved shooting deaths of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Philando Castile in St. Paul, Minnesota and the five Dallas law enforcement officers who were killed and seven officers injured in the line of duty.

“With our nation reeling from the recent senseless deaths of African Americans, more senseless death is not the answer. We must commit ourselves to justice in peace. “The California Legislative Black Caucus remains committed to partnering with our legislative colleagues, law enforcement, civil society and the public to build a stronger, safer and more inclusive state that values the strength that comes from California’s great ethnic and racial diversity.”
