California Legislative Black Caucus Hires Johanna Williams as Consultant

Sacramento (CA) – The California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC) announced Johanna Williams as their new consultant. Williams, who most recently worked for Speaker Anthony Rendon as a legislative consultant, brings over 20 years of legislative and government experience to the job.

“We are thrilled to have Johanna Williams working for the California Legislative Black Caucus,” said CLBC Chair Chris Holden. “Johanna brings a wide range of skills and high level of expertise to the job that will make a big impact for the CLBC.”

Since 2014, Williams worked for the California State Assembly Speaker’s Office, first as a member consultant, then as a legislative consultant for the Speaker’s Office of Research and Floor Analysis. Prior to working for the State Assembly she served as an analyst in the Government Law Section for the California State Attorney General. She also worked for the State Board of Equalization as a community outreach analyst and served as a field representative for Senator Barbara Boxer and Congressman Brad Sherman.

“I look forward to advancing the CLBC’s legislative and community engagement efforts in my new role,” said Williams. “For 50 years the CLBC has played a critical role advocating for the interests of Black Californians and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
