250% Working Disabled Program - The Working Disabled Program allows certain individuals to become eligible for Medi-Cal by paying low monthly premiums based on countable income. To qualify, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Continuously meet the federal definition of disability, without regard to ability to perform substantial gainful activity;
- Have net family income of less than 250 percent of the federal poverty level; and
- Would be eligible to receive Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary program benefits if it weren't for their earnings.

The Major Risk Medical Insurance Program (MRMIP) provides health insurance for Californians unable to obtain coverage in the individual health insurance market because of their pre-existing conditions. Californians qualifying for the program participate in the cost of their coverage by paying premiums. The State of California supplements those premiums to cover the cost of care in MRMIP. Tobacco tax funds currently subsidize the MRMIP.
Qualifications:
- California resident.
- Cannot be eligible for both Part A and Part B of Medicare, unless eligible solely because of end-stage renal disease.
- Cannot be eligible to purchase any health insurance for continuation of benefits under Cobra or CalCobra
- Unable to secure adequate coverage

The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan is a health coverage option for people who have been locked out of the health insurance market because of a pre-existing condition. It provides people with a pre-existing condition the same coverage that a healthy person receives, and at the same price. The following are the eligibility requirements:
- Resident of California.

A pre-existing condition as shown by:
- Rejection letter from a health insurance company in the last 12 months, or
- Offered coverage with premiums higher than those of the MRMIP preferred provider organization (PPO) in the geographic region where the individual is seeking coverage.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. National or lawfully present.
- No health insurance coverage in the last six months prior to application.
- Not enrolled in Medicare Part A & Part B; or COBRA or Cal-COBRA benefits.
- Social Security Number required.
- Dependent coverage not available.

California Children Services - A state program that helps children with certain diseases, physical limitations, or chronic health problems. Eligibility requirements include:
- Child under 21 years old
- Have a medical problem that CCS covers
- California resident
- Family income under $40,000 (your adjusted gross income on the state tax form)
- Provides basic primary care on school campus' similar to health clinics. Services may include: primary care, mental health, health education, and or dental care at low or no cost.

Since its creation nearly a decade ago, First 5 California has brought these critical services to millions of parents, caregivers and children ages 0 to 5.
- The Healthy Families program is a low cost insurance for children and teens. It provides health, dental and vision coverage to children who do not have insurance and do not qualify for free Medi-Cal.

Healthy African American Families is a non-profit, community serving agency.
