Black History Month - The Beauty of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
CLBC Caucus Vice Chair, Assemblymember Shirley Weber (D – San Diego) led a special ceremony in the State Assembly to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as a holiday in California. In her floor speech, Weber said by celebrating Dr. King’s life she hopes others will see something in themselves that pushes them to rise up. “The beauty of the Martin Luther King celebration day is that it once again reminds us that one person, standing for right, can truly change the world,” Weber said.
